Saltanah Dance
The Saltanah Dancers are the professional Belly Dance company of Saltanah Studios. Since 2006, they have presented joyful, enchanting Belly Dance throughout NM. As dynamic leaders in Santa Fe’s Belly Dance scene, they are known for their glamorous, multi-faceted performances, their dedication to both cultural traditions and innovation, and their artistic excellence. They have a large repertoire of dances, presenting a variety of styles, costuming and props, which include solos, duets, and large troupe dances with professional, apprentice and student dancers. The Saltanah Dancers regularly showcase guest dancers and musicians in their quest to build community and present amazing shows. The Saltanah Dancers are Deborah Newberg, Misty Raivo, Mena and Bryana. As soloists, they are accomplished dance artists, with distinctive individual styles. Audiences are delighted by their Belly Dance shows, at venues across New Mexico, from restaurants and hotels to theatres and festivals, as well as weddings, parties and celebrations of all kinds!
Saltanah Studios was founded by studio director and lead instructor, Deborah Newberg, in 2005. Since then, we have offered a creative and alternative approach to teaching Belly Dance at all levels. Santa Fe Belly Dance Classes are small, so individual attention and mutual support are the norm in our “dance family”. Our students are of all ages and dance backgrounds, with varied dance goals, from “just-for-fun-and-exercise” beginners, to those who are engaged in Belly Dance as a body-mind practice, to those who are training with us to become performers!
